i’m going to pick the 8 of pentacles this week. (at first my eye was drawn to the empress, but i didn’t want to pick an obviously girly card. maybe another week.) the more i looked at the cards, the more the 8 of pentacles seemed to be the right one. the guy in the picture looks like he’s working hard to make what he wants, and i feel that i have to be focused this week in my goals in the same way that he is. i like how the pentacles are lined up along the tree trunk, somehow representing a union between a manmade object and nature. i notice also that he is working on these by himself, and i think that some of what i have to do (practicing guitar scales) is going to be a temporarily solo endeavor but hopefully rewarding in the end.

Also 8 of pentacles, and for some of the same reasons as jessie– all the hard work I’ve been doing this summer will culminate tomorrow in a final presentation. The finishing touches have been made, and I’m ready to line up my pentacles and put them on display.

    Jessie,
What a great new hit on the Eight of Pentacles! The union between manmade object and nature! Nice!

    Sonia,
I also love the idea of the pentacles being put on display–not practice pieces but a culmination of hard work–a symbol of accomplishment and mastery! I’m quite certain your final presentation wowed them.

So great to hear from you both,
    Susan
