I chose the Nine of Swords. Great looking card! I love red, so it leapt at me straight away.

Unfortunately it is not a positive card, like my card of the day, the Seven of Pentacles. But it does reflect what is going through my mind at the moment. Do I even want another job in this industry? (I’m job hunting, I was laid off) Do I want to do something else? What do I want to do? This has been churning through my mind for a long time. I just want to stop. And start over. And I just don’t have the guts. Which is silly, in a way. I have some money to tie me over. And let’s say I decide to do something new, for example go back to university, I could always work on the side to make extra cash. Argh.

    Hi Cathy,

It sounds like you have a lot of big decisions to make. I’m glad that you could find a card to reflect what you are experiencing. That can be so validating. I must say that this particular Nine of Swords looks very empowering. The figure’s hands may be tied, but he or she looks ready to cut those ropes on the swords in the background. I wish you the best as you explore your options.

    Susan

I chose the Wheel of Fortune. Yep, one day I’m up, the next I’m down. This is a challenging and exciting time and I do feel like I never know when that hand is gonna turn the crank and pull the ground from under me.

In a way, the Wheel encapsulates all the other cards you’ve offered here; I can feel happy and contented like the Empress or 10 of pents one minute, and the next, 10 wands get dumped on my head and it’s 9 of swords time with a vengeance! Is it just me?? 😉

    Hi Kay,

Thanks for writing in! I enjoyed your reflection on the cards.

I also enjoyed looking at your tarot site and images from the decks that you have done. I’ll put a link on my blogroll.

I too was instinctivly drawn to the nine of swords..paticularily the hands which are tied and bound..feeling powerless can often be a first reaction to difficulties in life, but upon reflection and once we have regained our composure we can see the power and assertion of the swords are there.. to cut those ropes and free us to take charge once again

Hi Susan – thanks for the link – you’re also on my blogroll of course!
(still going round on that Wheel of Fortune… ;))
